Plain City police rescind conditional offer after candidate injured; new hiring continues

Police Chief Dale McKee updated council that a conditional offer extended earlier in 2025 was formally rescinded after the candidate suffered an employment-related injury and will be unable to complete the physical agility tests required by the Plain City Police Department. Chief McKee said the candidate may be available to complete the hiring process in March 2026 if they reapply after recovering.
McKee also reported that another candidate has been extended a conditional offer and is proceeding through the department's hiring process, and that additional interviews for police academy cadets are ongoing.
