At the July 14 meeting Village Administrator Haley Lupton introduced Ordinance 25-2025, a supplemental appropriation and amendment to the Village of Plain City 2025 budget.
Lupton identified the most notable modification as an allocation to purchase a new tornado siren to replace the existing unit on West Avenue, with plans to install the replacement at the Municipal Building. The transcript does not specify the dollar amount for the siren allocation.
Council sought to waive the second reading of Ordinance 25-2025, but because fewer than five councilmembers were present the waiver was not granted; the ordinance remains at first reading for a later meeting and formal action.
Lupton also noted that capital improvement projects underway will require expenditures already accounted for in the current budget and that staff has begun meetings with the village’s financial advisor regarding 2026 budget formation.
