The East Rockhill Township Park and Recreation Committee on May 13 agreed by consensus to recommend placing a memorial bench for Roger Jones at Willard H. Markey Centennial Park.
The committee's recommendation, discussed at the meeting convened at 7:14 p.m., calls for relocating an existing bench currently sited at the rear of the park to the golf driving range and installing the memorial bench in that vacated spot, which overlooks a meadow. The memorial bench had been authorized by the Board of Supervisors on March 25, 2025, according to the meeting record.
Vice-Chairperson Dave Stevens presided over the meeting; Marianne Hart Morano, township manager, and committee members Anne Fenley, Arthur Hallett and Roseann Valone were present. The minutes from the Feb. 11, 2025 meeting were approved earlier in the session on a motion by Stevens and a second by Valone, with all present voting in favor.
The committee's discussion produced a clear recommendation but no formal motion or recorded vote on the bench placement. There were no members of the public present to offer comment.
The meeting adjourned at 7:26 p.m.
