Versailles council approves EMS pay and job-description updates and accepts two promotions and a donation

The Village of Versailles approved pay and job-description updates for its Emergency Medical Services at the Feb. 26 council meeting.
Ordinance No. 25-12, which revises compensation for EMS personnel, and Resolution No. 25-13, which updates the job descriptions for EMT-Basic, EMT-Intermediate and EMT/Paramedic positions, were both read by title and approved after emergency suspension of the rules. The consent agenda was amended to include Fire/EMS Chief Brian Pearson’s recommendations to promote Nathan Schutz from EMT Basic to EMT Advanced effective Dec. 18, 2024, and to promote Malachi Hughes from EMT Basic to EMT Paramedic; council approved the amended consent agenda. Council also accepted an anonymous $1,000 donation to EMS through the Dayton Foundation.
Meeting minutes reflect unanimous votes for the ordinance and resolution approvals. The updated pay schedule and job descriptions will be part of village personnel records and applied according to the ordinances and resolutions approved at the meeting.
