Waite Hill council notes planning approvals, orders builder to halt nonconforming work; police certification and donated cemetery work highlighted

The Planning and Zoning Commission and Architectural Board of Review reported several land-use approvals and at least one enforcement action at the Dec. 9 Waite Hill Council meeting.
Abby Hiltsley, reporting for the Planning and Zoning Commission and Architectural Board of Review, said a replacement generator was approved for a Markell Road home; a pool, hot tub and generator were approved for a Metcalf Road property contingent on submission of detailed drawings and a landscape plan; and a pool and pergola were approved for a property on Eagle Road. The commission also reported that an inspection of a new residence on Eagle Road found construction not in accordance with approved plans; the builder will be notified that construction must stop until either the construction conforms with the approved drawings or a revised design is approved.

Service Director Bob Haynik reported that the Service Department managed Thanksgiving snow, that holiday lights donated by the Gale family have been installed, that cemetery tree work will be completed at an estimated cost of $7,100 (sponsored by the Gale family), that roads have been striped, and that a new Service Department truck has been delivered.
Mayor Ryan W. Cox also reported that Stephanie Winterer will serve as Chair of the Charter Review Commission (appointments to be made in January) and that negotiations are underway with Willoughby Hills on the fire department contract.
