Select Board approves minutes and warrants, hears public comment about roadside signs

The board approved the minutes from the May 7 Select Board meeting after a motion by Pat Kane and a second from Chris Stark; the motion passed unanimously.
During public comment, George Borowsky urged enforcement of the town’s sign ordinance, citing roofing, stump-grinding and motorcycle signs along town roads. Mary Allen said she would follow up with Bill Tracy to see whether he needs assistance contacting owners to request removal.
The board approved Payroll Warrant #70 ($11,334.54), Accounts Payable Warrant #71 ($39,085.93), and Electronic Payment Warrant #72 ($117,700.07), which included School Warrant #23 (payroll $68,868.58; accounts payable $43,713.46). Chris Stark moved to approve the warrants, Pat Kane seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Mary Allen announced a public farewell for Darcel on May 28 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the town office; Darcel will begin a dog day-care and boarding business in Ellsworth.
