Mary Allen said the Select Board met with Andrew McCullough, who explained that a cistern at the corner of Toddy Pond Road and Gold Stream Road may be the preferred option for addressing water-supply constraints because of local water depths and Department of Environmental Protection permitting concerns.
Surry Fire Chief Bryan McLellan was not present that evening; the board agreed the next step is for Chief McLellan to meet with Andrew McCullough on Friday to review technical details and permitting considerations. The meeting recorded no decision to fund or install the cistern; the board identified the item for continued staff and chief follow-up.
