Stone Park trustees approve appropriation, two ordinance changes and $105,844 in bills

The Village of Stone Park Board of Trustees met May 27, 2025, and unanimously approved three ordinances, adopted the fiscal-year appropriation and authorized payment of $105,844.10 in bills.
Trustee Marco T. Paz moved to approve minutes from the May 13 public hearing, committee and board meetings; Trustee Loretta J. Teets seconded the motion, which passed on a unanimous roll call vote. Clerk Laura Cassidy-Hatchet thanked colleagues for their patience while she attended training last week; Deputy Clerk Nancy Garcia noted the office was affected by the clerk's absence.
Under Building & Grounds, Trustee Loretta J. Teets moved, seconded by Trustee Paz, to approve Ordinance 25-08, "An Ordinance Amending Regulating Occasional Sales, Including Garage and Yard Sales." The motion passed on a unanimous roll call vote. Under Police & Fire, Trustee Sylvia Terrazas moved, seconded by Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez, to approve Ordinance 25-10, "An Ordinance Amending Title XI, Chapter 111: Alcoholic Beverages & 111.06: Sanitation and Safety of the Village of Stone Park Illinois Code of Ordinances." That motion also passed unanimously.
On finance matters, Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez moved, seconded by Trustee Loretta J. Teets, to approve Ordinance 25-09, the appropriation ordinance for the fiscal year beginning May 1, 2025 and ending April 30, 2026. The board then reviewed presented expenditures for the billing period May 13–27, 2025 by fund: General Fund $100,725.57; Motor Fuel Transportation (MFT) $2,692.78; Water Fund $2,425.75; Debt Service $0.00; TIF $0.00, for a total of $105,844.10. Trustee Gutierrez moved to approve payment of the bills; Trustee Nazario Garcia seconded, and the payment authorization was approved by unanimous roll call. The mayor noted Invoice 25-10590 from Premium Exterior Services Inc. for $78,875.00 had already been approved at the Board's May 13 meeting and was not newly approved tonight. The minutes state "Revenue not included in expense report."
No reports were given under License, New Business or Attorney's Report. Mayor Beniamino Mazzulla invited elected officials to the Francione Park grand opening on Saturday, May 31 at 10 a.m., which will feature a ribbon-cutting. Trustee Marco A. Gutierrez moved, seconded by Trustee Simplisio Roman, to adjourn; the meeting adjourned by unanimous voice vote at 6:28 p.m. The minutes were approved at the June 10, 2025 board meeting.
