Stone Park plans pavilion cameras, cites 900-person weekend event and lists building repairs

Office Manager Aracely Gutierrez told trustees the pavilion was rented for a wedding on Saturday and a Polish community event on Sunday that drew "over 900 in attendance." She said auxiliaries helped but need more training on allowable parking and grounds logistics.
Building and Grounds Trustee Loretta J. Teets presented a set of invoices for Board consideration, including a $10,000 invoice from Precision Repair, Inc. for a pavilion camera system. Mayor Beniamino Mazzulla explained the cameras "would be set up and monitored from an iPad by the Office Manager on weekends." When Teets asked, "At the time of rental are the applicants informed of the security cameras?" the Office Manager replied, "Yes."
The Office Manager reported music end times: Saturdays at 10:30 p.m. and Sundays at 9:00 p.m. The mayor asked trustees to research how other municipalities regulate outdoor music near residential areas ahead of the next meeting. The clerk suggested the Police Department use a decibel meter for enforcement, and Commander Sarabia asked whether speakers could be repositioned away from the neighboring residential property. The mayor noted forthcoming senior living nearby and asked trustees to keep that in mind when considering outdoor event hours.
Public Works Jessica Ramirez provided maintenance updates including removal of parade flags, final pavilion preparations, repair of a leaking fire hydrant at North Avenue and 43rd Avenue, and weed control in alleys; Trustee Nazario Garcia raised an issue about high weeds on an eastbound North Avenue ramp and was told IDOT had been scheduled to address it.
No formal votes on expenditures or changes to event rules were recorded in the committee minutes; the camera purchase and other invoices were presented for approval at the forthcoming board meeting.
