Staff also described an arrangement with Legacy Excavating, which will replace tracks across Worville Road and, while that road is closed under the contractor's railroad permit, perform a mill and overlay on identified rough pavement areas. Doing the roadway work under the contractor's existing railroad permit avoids a separate agreement with the railroad. Engineering presented a quote of $39,750 for the mill and overlay with work tentatively scheduled the week of July 20 if weather allows; the board approved the project.
The board approved these items by voice vote; staff said detour routes will already be in place during the railroad closure and that the mayor's office had been consulted on coordination.
What happens next: staff will execute the ratification and contracts, schedule the mill/overlay for the week of July 20 weather permitting, and deposit the declared unclaimed $27 into the general fund.
