The Cohasset School Committee voted unanimously on June 3 to adopt the 2026–27 school improvement plans for Osgood and Deer Hill after principals presented highlights and proposed goals.
Principals reviewed this year’s work—multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS) for academics and behavior, homework practice reviews that will feed into a revised handbook, project-based learning pilots, and wellness and belonging initiatives—and outlined next steps for implementing working-group recommendations and family communication.
At the end of the joint presentation the chair asked for a motion "to endorse and approve the 26–27 school improvement plan for Osgood and Deer Hill." A motion and second were recorded and the chair announced the motion “passes unanimously.” The committee asked remaining school improvement-plan votes for other buildings to be placed on the agenda for the next meeting.
Principals emphasized continuity of practice across buildings and said the SIPs include specific action items such as updating MTSS documentation, aligning homework policy across grades, deploying project-based learning tracks for staff, and strengthening student voice in planning.
