Board approves $500,000 brownfields professional services agreement with CHA

Kelvin Kelly, principal scientist with CHA, told the board the firm has previously worked with the city and will perform environmental consulting and brownfields redevelopment tasks, including Phase I and Phase II site assessments to identify candidate sites citywide.
City staff presented a proposed agreement and the board approved it by voice vote after a member moved for approval and another seconded the motion.
What happens next: CHA will begin environmental assessments and the city will coordinate site selection and any necessary follow‑up reporting required by the grant.
