Trustees approve purchase of two avenue posts and note completed sign replacement

At the March 26 meeting, Pete Lammert reported he had located some candidate posts but found some stock unsuitable and requested two extra posts so the town would have 24 total. The board voted to purchase the two additional posts; the motion, recorded as moved by Rod Grindell and seconded by Sue Christensen, passed with a recorded tally of 6-0-1. The trustees directed that the posts be delivered to the local prison, where workers will chamfer the tops to match original town road markers, paint them white and rout black lettering with “AVE” and the number. The board also authorized the prison to prepare two blank replacement posts for future use.
Trustees also noted that a new cemetery sign next to the maintenance building has been completed and is currently in Dean’s office; Pete Lammert said he will handle installation.
The vote on the posts was a formal action taken during the meeting; no amendments to the motion were recorded. The board’s routine project- and maintenance-related decisions aim to preserve the cemetery’s consistent signage and wayfinding. The board adjourned at 5:20 p.m.
