Residents raise concerns about warehouses and trash services; Township approves Eagle Scout chess table

Valerie Roohr (304 Pemberton Road) said she has been opposing warehouses in nearby Pemberton Township and questioned whether attachments to a hook truck referenced in the budget presentation were included in the price; Township Administrator Brandon Umba confirmed the attachments are included. Roohr also asked about dumpsters mentioned in the presentation. Administrator Umba clarified that "house cleanouts" are not permitted under current Township ordinance and that the proposal under discussion would allow the Township to deliver dumpsters to residents upon request for a fee; implementation would occur when the Township deploys one‑arm bandit trash trucks and establishes a separate bulk‑pickup day.
Scott Mitchell of the Volunteer Fire Department reported February calls, thanked Administrator Umba for the budget presentation and answered a question from Mayor Heston about helicopter landings (one landed for an Mt. Holly vehicular accident and another planned landing to LeisureTowne was later canceled). Michael Rathjen of the Highland Lakes Fire Department reported on calls over the past three months, warned that forest fire season had begun and urged residents to prepare their homes to be "fire wise." Tom Hoskins (523 Ridge Rd) asked about holding a baseball game after fireworks for suicide awareness in memory of his son; Chief Mitchell said field clearance typically takes about a half hour and Committeeman William Raftery suggested holding the game before the fireworks if permissible.
Separately, Andrew Dozier presented an Eagle Scout project to install a wheelchair‑accessible public chess table behind the Sally Stretch Keen Library and expected to complete it by the end of April; Committeeman William Raftery moved to approve the project, Committeeman James Young seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
