Trenton Select Board tables LUO changes, signs 2026 animal control agreement and approves warrants

At its Jan. 6 meeting the Trenton Select Board voted 5-0 to table proposed Land Use Ordinance changes pending further review, signed the 2026 Animal Control letters to Hancock County Commissioners and approved accounts payable and payroll warrants; an executive session on personnel was announced.
The Trenton Select Board on Jan. 6 voted 5-0 to table proposed changes to the town’s Land Use Ordinance after Select Board member Brant Viner said comments from the CEO may be difficult to address and that the Fire Chief’s discretion on water sources needs additional discussion. Select Board member Carol Walsh agreed to contact the CEO to ask that the Planning Board consider the matter at its Jan. 14 meeting.
John Bennett, a Select Board member, moved to table the LUO changes and Judi Sproule seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
In new business the board approved the 2026 Animal Control letters. John Bennett moved and Danielle Cole seconded to sign the letters and return them to the Hancock County Commissioners; the motion passed 5-0.
The board also approved accounts payable and payroll warrants as presented (motion by Bennett; second by Cole), again by a 5-0 vote. The board announced it will convene an executive session to discuss personnel matters pursuant to 1 M.R.S.A.§405(6)(A). The meeting adjourned at 8:11 p.m. following a motion by Bennett and a second by Sproule.
