Tremont Select Board approves surplus sales, tentatively adopts General Assistance appendices and signs two quitclaim deeds

At its Sept. 16 meeting the Tremont Select Board approved the results of a surplus property sale, voted to tentatively adopt annual appendices to the General Assistance Ordinance pending a public hearing, and signed quitclaim deeds for two properties.
By motion moved by Eric Eaton and seconded by Howdy Goodwin, the board awarded surplus items to successful bidders: a Stihl chainsaw to Esther Jacobs ($150); a pole saw to Tyler Damon ($50); a snow blower to Danial Closson ($50); a bookshelf to Esther Jacobs ($15.55); a riding lawn tractor to Esther Jacobs ($400); a backhoe bucket to William Gott ($25); a metal screener to William Gott ($250); and a utility trailer to Esther Jacobs ($150). All awards were approved unanimously.
On the ordinance matter, Town Manager Jesse Dunbar requested the board tentatively adopt Appendices A–H of the General Assistance Ordinance for Oct. 1, 2024–Sept. 30, 2025, pending a public hearing on Oct. 7, 2024. Kevin Buck moved to adopt and sign the appendices pending the hearing; the motion passed unanimously.
The board also signed quitclaim release deeds by motion: one to Noble Interests LLC for property referenced at 62 Noble Road, Tax Map 011, Lot 013 (record notes all assessed liens, fees, and costs have been paid), and one to Clyde Harper Jr. for property at 4 Bernard Road, Tax Map 016, Lot 014 (all assessed liens, fees, and costs have been paid). Motions were moved by Kevin Buck and seconded by Eric Eaton and passed unanimously.
The minutes record the awards and deeds but do not include additional bidder or buyer contact details beyond names and amounts. The Oct. 7 public hearing will be the next procedural step for the General Assistance appendices.
