Select Board adopts community resilience planning resolution

The Board of Selectmen on March 31 unanimously adopted a resolution endorsing the results of a recent community resilience planning (CRP) effort.
Janna Richards of HCPC told the board the CRP group met in January, researched a list of 96 possible community development actions and narrowed them to 20 at a public workshop. The resolution approved by the board contains six actions intended for near-term implementation; Richards said two of those actions are school-related and may be deferred until a decision about a possible school changeover is resolved.
The motion to sign the resolution was moved by John Bennett and seconded by Dannielle Cole; the board recorded a 5-0 vote. Select Board member Judy Sproule said Richards will prepare any grant applications that result from the resolution.
The resolution as recorded in the meeting minutes does not list full implementation details or funding sources; the Comprehensive Plan group is scheduled to present further information at the board's next meeting.
