The Tremont Select Board on Sept. 3 authorized emergency repairs to Steamboat Wharf Road and directed the Town Manager to solicit bids for maintenance work on Seal Cove Road.
By motion of Select Board member Kevin Buck, seconded by Select Board member Howard Goodwin, the board authorized Iron Coast Construction to perform an emergency repair on Steamboat Wharf Road at a cost not to exceed $9,400 and directed the use of the Road Improvement Reserve to fund the work. The motion passed unanimously.
Later in the meeting, Select Board member Eric Eaton moved and Kevin Buck seconded a motion that authorized the Town Manager to solicit bids "as specified" for roadwork on Seal Cove Road; that motion also passed unanimously. The board did not specify project cost estimates in the recorded motion.
Town Manager Jesse Dunbar will oversee contracting and bid solicitation for Seal Cove Road and arrange the emergency repair on Steamboat Wharf Road. The repair to Steamboat Wharf Road will proceed under the Road Improvement Reserve funding authorization; no timeline for completion was recorded.
