On capital and facilities business, the board reviewed proposals for a new harbormaster facility at Bernard Wharf and authorized contracting with Dunbar & Sons Excavation for groundwork at a cost not to exceed $14,975. The motion, moved by Kevin Buck and seconded by McKenzie Jewett, passed with four in favor and one abstention (Howard Goodwin).
The board authorized moving leftover 2024 Lobster Boat Race funds to a newly created 'Backside Blast Reserve' to be established at the 2025 Annual Town Meeting; that motion was made by McKenzie Jewett, seconded by Howard Goodwin, and passed unanimously. The minutes also record the unanimous approval of the sale of Lot C21 in Hillrest Cemetery to Bonnie and Jason Farnsworth and approval of a consent agreement for 54 Clark Point Road (Tax Map 005 Lot 081-01) between the Town of Tremont and P. Joy and Peter J. Cutrone.
Town Manager Jesse Dunbar provided a verbal report on town employees’ activities since the prior meeting. Dunbar also suggested adding the Sustainability Bylaws to the next meeting agenda. The board confirmed its next regular meeting for Monday, Aug. 12, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:24 p.m.
