Tremont Select Board Approves Seaside Dairy Bar Liquor License, Hires Auditor and Leases Pacific Hall to American Legion

Chair Jamie Thurlow convened the meeting at 5:00 p.m. in the Harvey Kelley Meeting Room. The board voted on a series of routine and administrative items, moving through the agenda by unanimous votes after adopting the meeting agenda by consent.
The board approved minutes from its June 17, 2024 meeting on a motion by Select Board member Kevin Buck, seconded by Select Board member Eric Eaton; the minutes show the motion passed 4–0 with Select Board member Howard Goodwin recorded as abstaining. The board also approved multiple warrants covering payments for FY24 and the first warrant of FY25, including amounts of $2,618.00; $21,476.40; $5,683.12; $15,176.03; $23,003.74 and FY25 Warrant #1 for $34,958.08.
On appointments, the board confirmed Renee Hodgdon to a Library Board of Trustees seat with a term expiring June 30, 2027, and likewise appointed Joseph Paolino to a Library Board seat expiring June 30, 2027. Both appointments were made by Eric Eaton, seconded by Howard Goodwin, and passed unanimously.
For the liquor license, the board approved the renewal application for the establishment at 42 Tremont Road; the motion to approve Hansen Properties LLC, DBA Seaside Dairy Bar & Lobster Pound, was made by Kevin Buck and seconded by Vice Chair McKenzie Jewett and passed unanimously.
The board also voted to contract with James W. Wadman, CPA, to conduct the Town’s annual audit for the year ending June 30, 2024, and authorized the chair to sign the proposal. Votes to cast Tremont’s ballots for the Maine Municipal Association Legislative Policy Committee selected Carolyn Ball and Kathleen Billings.
On facilities, the board authorized the Town Manager to sign a three‑year lease of Pacific Hall to American Legion Post 69 for a rent of $1.00; that motion, made by McKenzie Jewett and seconded by Howard Goodwin, passed unanimously. Town Manager Jesse Dunbar provided a brief verbal report on town employee activities; no formal actions were recorded from that report.
Select Board member Kevin Buck suggested adding Seawall Road to the next meeting agenda. The board confirmed its next regular meeting for Monday, July 15, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. at the Town Office and adjourned at 5:24 p.m.
