Council Member Ryan Burns, reporting for the Leisure Committee, laid out detailed plans for the Village of Arcanum pool during the Feb. 10 meeting.
The committee set the pool season for June 1 through Aug. 9, with hours Monday–Friday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. and weekends from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Swim lessons will be offered in June and July on Tuesdays and Thursdays with morning and afternoon sessions; water aerobics will run Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The committee said there will be one night swim in both June and July and that pool rentals will be available after normal closing hours.
Most admission rates will increase for 2026, the committee said, but family passes, the additional-member fee and swim lesson fees will not increase. The Leisure Committee recommended Mariah Kreusch as pool manager for 2026; Council introduced Resolution 2026-03 (authorizing the hiring of a pool manager) for first reading. Council also gave a first reading to Ordinance 2026-03, which would establish the 2026 community pool rates.
The committee reported two 30-by-30 sun shades and a new small freezer will be purchased for the concession area and that hot dogs will be added to the menu. Final adoption of rates and hiring are pending further council action at a future meeting.
