Representatives for the distribution facility described a proposal to expand truck parking and relocate employee parking at 55 Hunter Lane so delivery trucks and employee vehicles are not mixed. Grama Baker, senior director for Northeast Region Sales Operations, said the company must separate truck and employee parking for safety and operational compliance: “I’m required to provide a facility that separates employee parking from the parking where we put our DSD delivery trucks,” Baker told the board.
Consultants said the plan adds three dedicated DSD truck stalls, creates 16 new employee stalls in the grass area along Hunter Lane (an increase from how the lot has been functioning), and provides two underground detention/infiltration systems modeled for a 25‑year storm and a 100‑year overflow pipe to riprap. The applicants also reported tree work: three regulated trees were flagged, two of which staff identified as invasive and therefore not subject to replacement calculations; replacement planting and additional shrubs will exceed minimal landscape requirements.
Staff noted a need to confirm ownership documents in the application packet (deeds included several entries naming multiple family partnerships). The board agreed to set the matter for a public hearing on Dec. 3 and asked the applicant to clarify property ownership records prior to the hearing.
