At its April 14 meeting, the Willistown Township Environmental Advisory Council discussed launching a quarterly speaker series and identified Jennifer Nichols, head of GreenWeaver, as the first volunteer speaker. The council estimated that renting the Rushton Conservation Center would cost about $300, an amount noted as within the EAC’s budget.
Ellen Covner was asked to draft guidelines for the speaker series. Chair Keith Parsons said he would coordinate scheduling with Tricia Mackay and Jennifer Nichols and copy Township Liaison John Holback on those communications. The council flagged a May 6 deadline for submitting announcements to the Town Crier and discussed timing the first talk to coincide with Wildflower Week this summer.
The council asked members to brainstorm marketing and outreach to increase online visibility for the EAC and to use the series as an educational avenue for residents. No formal vote or contract was recorded in the minutes regarding the series; details were described as planning steps to be finalized at future meetings.
