Robbins board approves amended warrant, extends Flock cameras and sends snow contract back for review

The Village of Robbins Mayor and Board of Trustees on Jan. 11 approved an amended warrant list and took several procurement actions, including extending a trial surveillance system and declining a proposed seasonal snow-and-ice contract.
Trustee George Brewton moved and Trustee Gregory N. Jackson seconded approval of a warrant list that was amended from $39,924.04 to $45,089.26 after the board agreed to add a second list totaling $5,165.22. The motion passed with ayes recorded from Trustees David R. Dyson, George Brewton, Ernest Maxey Jr., Tiffany S. Robinson, Gregory N. Jackson and Michael Collier Sr.
On a separate procurement vote, the board considered a contractual agreement with KNM Ventures for seasonal snow and ice removal. Trustee Jackson moved to approve the agreement and Trustee Collier seconded. The roll call recorded nays from Dyson, Maxey, Brewton, Robinson, Jackson and Collier, and the motion was denied. Mayor Darren E. Bryant recommended the matter be referred to the public works committee for further discussion; Trustee Collier will arrange that committee meeting.
The board also voted to extend the Flock Camera Safety System beyond its trial period. Trustee Tiffany S. Robinson moved to extend the program and Trustee Gregory N. Jackson seconded; the motion passed with the same ayes as on the warrant vote.
Two COVID-related agenda items were deferred for later consideration. Trustee Robinson moved to defer a COVID-19 testing agreement with Humility Health Care; that motion was seconded by Trustees Collier and Dyson and carried. Trustee David R. Dyson moved and Trustees Maxey and Collier seconded a motion to defer approval of the Village of Robbins COVID-19 policy; that motion also carried.
The meeting concluded with a short public comment and adjournment at 9:33 p.m.
