Jason Anderson, founder and CEO of Pre Veteran, presented to the Wyoming Workforce Development Council on a training program that he said prepares service members to enter the private sector and improves employer retention.
Anderson described program development and pilot results from 2021–2023 and said the firm trains transitioning service members on private‑sector communication, mindset and alignment to reduce early turnover. "We are a Wyoming based company...we are a Workforce Development company that specializes in optimizing the military leaving the military to be a better veteran Workforce for businesses," Anderson said during his slide presentation (SEG 208–216). He added that, based on program data, many transitioning service members encounter gaps and that targeted upstream training and employer onboarding adjustments can improve outcomes.
During Q&A, Cheyenne business owner Larry Foder said his plumbing and heating company has been registered with SkillBridge for more than a year but has not received responses from Warren Air Force Base; Anderson suggested there are local outreach strategies and follow‑ups that can increase employer access to SkillBridge participants and offered to consult offline.
Why it matters Council members noted employers’ difficulty accessing military talent and said training that prepares service members and helps employers onboard them could reduce recruitment and training costs while improving retention.
What comes next Anderson offered contact information and council members and staff agreed to follow up; the council did not take formal action on the presentation.
