DWS previews hire.y.gov: new job hub and upgraded case management tools

Trevor (DWS staff) gave a demonstration of the department's new MIS and a public job portal to be hosted at hire.y.gov. He said the site will offer a resume builder, interview simulation trainer, e‑portfolio/digital credential wallet, industry and training modules, and an employer candidate search function.
"One of the really cool things... we'll have is an interview simulation trainer and a Resume Builder," Trevor said, showing screenshots of a case manager dashboard and describing tools intended to reduce staff administrative burden. He also said the system will be mobile‑responsive and will migrate years of existing data into the new vendor platform; the department will continue to own its data but will license the application as a subscription service.
Council members asked about user testing, analytics, cyber security and whether there would be a public beta. Trevor said staff have internal testing underway, a beta environment exists for vendor testing and the launch target is in December. Council members raised security concerns: Eric Trobbridge warned that large data core conversions are a prime target for cyberattacks and recommended close coordination on security and public messaging during the migration.
DWS staff said the new site will be available for council members and employers for preview and that launch timing depends on final vendor testing and data migration.
