Castine selectmen approve $1,485 warrant for library vendor; enter executive session with legal counsel

The Town of Castine Selectmen/Assessors and Overseer of the Poor approved a General Fund warrant for $1,485 to Mango Languages to cover two past-due library invoices and then moved into an executive session with legal counsel during their Aug. 26 meeting.
Gordon MacArthur, chair, moved to approve the warrant for $1,485 to Mango Languages; the motion was seconded by Dan Leader and approved unanimously, 3-0. The warrant was described in the minutes as payment for two past-due invoices to the library vendor.
After handling the warrant, the Selectmen entered a work session and voted to go into executive session for consultation with legal counsel pursuant to Title 1 MRSA Chapter 13 §405(6)(E). The minutes record that Attorney Ann Freeman and Selectboard member Roberta Boczkiewicz participated via Zoom. The board recorded the executive session as beginning at 9:50 a.m. and ending at 10:42 a.m. Gordon MacArthur moved to leave executive session; Dan Leader seconded and the motion carried 3-0.
Following the executive session, Dan Leader moved to adjourn, Gordon MacArthur seconded and the meeting adjourned at 10:43 a.m. The minutes were prepared by Town Clerk Susan Macomber via Town Manager Derik Goodine.
