Castle Hill approves key 2025 departmental budgets

Maylen Kenney, municipal officer, moved to approve the individual line items for those departments; Shari Cheney, municipal officer, seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously, 5-0.
The approvals followed a review of each department’s individual budget and reserve requests led by Town Manager Sandra Fournier. The minutes record no amendments to the line items presented; the board adopted the items as presented.
The action finalized several routine budget line items ahead of the town’s broader budget process and upcoming joint meeting. The board also scheduled a Joint Board Meeting for Jan. 14, 2025 to consider related matters and set the next Select Board meeting for Feb. 12, 2025.
The most immediate procedural step noted in the minutes was a public hearing the Town Manager announced for Jan. 27, 2025 on proposed ordinances for land use (multiple dwelling units) and for a solar garden.
