Residents press Castine leaders on Safe Harbor hours, pier lighting and a downed line

Don Tenney described a tree that fell on data/utility lines on Wadsworth Cove Road and reported a ticket opened in March had not resulted in repair. The board acknowledged the complaint and recommended persistence with the service provider.
Marc Pelletier pressed for a rendered lighting plan for Maine Maritime Academy's pier project, saying, "This is our Town and it would be nice to see a final prototype of what our harbor would look like." Town staff said MMA submitted a lighting plan but the town had requested rendered drawings and that interim MMA leadership had committed to more frequent updates.
Other public comments asked about replacement street signs, the Perkins Street one-way sign orders, and technical questions about the planned two-season soil testing at Battle Avenue; staff said SME would advise on testing timetables and that Olver Associates is the contracted operator for water and sewer services, which board members said did not present a conflict for reviewing RFP responses.
The board did not take immediate action on these public concerns beyond directing staff to follow up and report back.
