At the June 2 meeting, the Austintown Township Board of Trustees accepted the May financial reports and approved a series of fiscal and equipment measures.
The board approved a $45,520.30 requisition to Motorola Solutions for five new portable radios and related chargers and batteries. Trustees also accepted the payment listing that included a $60,966.08 severance payment to Thomas F. Collins and a $10,850 demolition payment to Robert Satterlee. Trustees approved an advance of $20,000 from the General Fund to Zoning and authorized transfer of a 2015 GMC Acadia from the Police Department to the Zoning Department, with a Kelly Blue Book value transfer of $7,600.
The trustees ratified the township’s 2025–2026 OTARMA insurance renewal for buildings, property, vehicles and liability at $174,903 (Resolution #25-06-02-09). The board also approved removal of 17 fire helmets from inventory that exceed 10 years of service, citing NFPA guidance (Resolution #25-06-02-03).
