Castine Selectboard approves warrants, liquor license renewal and annual appointments

The Castine Selectboard approved routine financial and administrative items at its July 15 meeting in Emerson Hall. Dan Leader moved to approve the General Fund warrant for $303,230.73, which covers 36 bills and includes payments for debt service, utilities and hydrant rental; Chair Gordon MacArthur seconded and the motion passed 2-0. Dan Leader then moved to approve the Water warrant for $25,692.58; MacArthur seconded and the board approved the measure 2-0.
The board approved the minutes of the July 1, 2024 meeting after a motion by Chair MacArthur and a second by Leader. The board also approved the annual appointments and reappointments to town boards and committees as read, with Leader making the motion and MacArthur seconding; the vote was 2-0. Town Manager Shawn Blodgett recognized several long-serving volunteers and said the town will send thank-you notes.
On a separate motion Chair MacArthur moved to renew the Castine Inn liquor license; Dan Leader seconded and the board approved the renewal 2-0. Deb Hamblen-Wood, the inn’s manager, was present and the board reported no complaints to the town office over the past year.
The meeting adjourned at 4:39 p.m. after a motion to adjourn by Leader and a second by MacArthur.
