New trustee sworn in; Morland superintendent to depart and assistant superintendent named

The Morland School District Board of Trustees swore in a newly appointed trustee and marked leadership transitions during Monday's meeting.
Superintendent Dr. Clover welcomed the board's newest trustee (appointed Saturday) and led the ceremonial oath. The board also acknowledged that Dr. Jennifer Baldwin has accepted the superintendent position at Live Oak School District and that this will be her final meeting in Morland after seven years of service.
Amanda Boyce addressed the board after being introduced as the district's incoming assistant superintendent of educational services effective July 1. "It's with great excitement and appreciation that I accept the appointment of assistant superintendent of educational services effective July 1st," Boyce said, summarizing her 26 years in public education and expressing eagerness to begin work in Morland.
New trustee Sichan, introduced at the meeting, spoke briefly about his priorities, pledging a "student-first" approach and outlining pillars including fiscal responsibility, closing academic gaps and strengthening family engagement.
Board members used their communications time to thank Dr. Baldwin for her service and to welcome the incoming staff and trustee. Several trustees remarked on the thorough appointment process and the community engagement around the selection.
