Plain City Council on June 23 set public hearings for Aug. 11, 2025, on five proposed planning-and-zoning code amendments and held a first reading on a separate purchase agreement for 0 Currier Road.
Council voted unanimously to set the public hearing dates for ZC-25-8 (Chapter 1161 B1 Neighborhood Business District), ZC-25-9 (Chapter 1165 B3 Central Business District), ZC-25-10 (Chapter 1169 I1 Restricted Industrial District), ZC-25-11 (Chapter 1171 I2 Limited Industrial District) and ZC-25-12 (removal of Chapter 1175 OLR Office, Laboratory and Research District). Each motion was moved, seconded and recorded 'all in favor.'
Administrator Haley Lupton also presented the first reading of Resolution 38-2025 to authorize a purchase agreement for 0 Currier Road, funded by an Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) grant, to acquire the property for greenspace. The item remains at first reading and no final purchase vote occurred June 23.
Residents and stakeholders will have the opportunity to comment at the Aug. 11 public hearings; Council did not take additional actions beyond setting the hearing dates and holding the first reading on the 0 Currier Road purchase.
