Vanlue council approves delinquent water assessments, street-light millage and grant applications

The Village of Vanlue Council on Aug. 26 unanimously approved a set of fiscal motions, including placing delinquent water and sewer accounts on property-tax bills and adopting a street-light millage.
Becky Nye moved to approve Resolution 02-2024, the assessment of delinquent water/sewer accounts to property taxes; Amy Wiseley seconded and the motion passed 6-0. Ann Burrell moved to approve Ordinance 2024-06, the street-light millage; Jeri Wenger seconded and the ordinance passed 6-0. The council also approved Resolution 03-2024, authorizing the village engineer to apply for the Ohio Public Works Commission (OPWC) 2025 paving grant; the motion was made by Amy Wiseley, seconded by Jeri Wenger and passed 6-0.
Council approved Resolution 04-2024 adopting the apportionment alternative for the Local Government Fund (LGF) versus the statutory method; the motion was recorded as passed 6-0. Council also approved the cost of the 2025 insurance policy and tasked Fiscal Officer Melinda "Mindy" Boyd to solicit carrier names from neighboring villages. An adjusted Estimate of Resources was approved, and the meeting adjourned at 8:22 p.m. following a motion by Melissa Caudill, seconded by Ann Burrell.
