Staff introduced a resolution (item J) that would impose a temporary moratorium on county approval of data center facility operations. The staff presentation said the resolution was recommended by the planning commission and would be placed on the June 29 commission meeting agenda for formal consideration.
During the presentation staff asked that the record be corrected on a prior item: a prior notation of a disapproval should instead show an abstention. No vote on the moratorium took place at the workshop.
The moratorium resolution was described as a temporary measure to pause approvals while the county considers zoning and operational standards for data center facilities; staff did not present ordinance language or an effective period during the workshop. Staff and the planning commission recommendation will be available in the June 29 packet for members and the public.
