Mark Rozum, board member, called the meeting to order at 6:21 p.m. Board members Lyndsay Davis, Steve Hoffman, Brad McBurney and Colleen Morris attended the meeting alongside Parks & Recreation Director Darlene Guzik. The board voted to accept minutes from the prior meeting on a motion by Lyndsay Davis, seconded by Mark Rozum.
Parks & Recreation Director Darlene Guzik reported a positive sponsorship response to date, with four sponsors committed at the 'gold' level. Guzik said the West Hills Symphonic Band is booked for a concert on June 14, 2026, from 2 to 4 p.m.; attendees will be advised to bring chairs or blankets, and Guzik will contact Ryan Homes about donating flags for the event. Organizers said deposits have been made for inflatables and for vendors Zambelli and Bon Journey.
On event planning, Guzik said the Community Days, car cruise and 5K remain short on sponsors. The 5K has confirmed timing and shirts, but organizers are awaiting a callback from Allegheny County about providing horses for the car cruise and are checking date availability with Geary Farm. For other items, Guzik noted an estimate had been received for tents and that the Food & Brew item was awaiting an invoice from Chris Higbee. The board also reported strong interest in a "Christmas in July" event and confirmed that November craft-fair fees will remain the same as in past years.
Holiday planning was discussed: Guzik said proposed Jingle Fest and the Christmas tree lighting would include activities from about 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with the tree lighting scheduled to end the day's festivities. She added she had reached out to the high school choir about participating. The fall festival/Trunk or Treat item had no report at this meeting.
Under new business, Mark Rozum asked for a motion to grant the North Fayette Foundation permission to apply for a games-of-chance permit. Lyndsay Davis seconded the motion; the board signaled unanimous support and the motion carried. There was no old or unfinished business reported.
Colleen Morris moved to adjourn at 8:01 p.m.; the motion was seconded by Mark Rozum and the meeting was adjourned. The board did not record a detailed vote tally in the minutes; the minutes record only that the motion carried with "all in favor."
