The City of St. Paul Park council approved its consent agenda unanimously (5-0) during the June 15 meeting, covering payments, construction contract work and several event-related items.
The consent agenda included: payment of the city's bills; approval of a change order and payment associated with the 3rd Street reconstruction project; acceptance of a $68,000 grant from the Metropolitan Council that staff had worked to secure; approval of a professional services agreement with Rum River; authorization of a special event permit for a tractor pull on Aug. 16, 2026 (Heritage Days weekend); and approval of an off-site gambling application connected to Heritage Days on Aug. 15, 2026.
Council member Swenson moved to approve the consent agenda, and Council member Hagerty seconded. The motion carried on a 5-0 voice vote. No council discussion altered the consent items during the meeting.
Why it matters: The Met Council grant provides dedicated funds for a city project; the change order and payment for 3rd Street affect ongoing capital work and contractor payments. Permits for Heritage Days enable planned community events later this summer.
Next steps: Staff will proceed with the contracts, grant acceptance paperwork and event permitting as approved by the council.
