Quincy, Antrim townships approve intergovernmental agreement for wastewater and road mutual aid

Quincy Township’s board voted on Feb. 2 to approve Resolution 2026-05, an intergovernmental agreement with neighboring Antrim Township that provides coverage for the township’s wastewater and water treatment facilities and establishes mutual aid for road-related activities including snow plowing, grading and storm response.
Chairman Alan Peck presented the agreement, and an Egolf/Peck motion to approve Resolution 2026-05 carried. Solicitor John Lisko told the board that because he represents both townships under the agreement, he would not represent either township in the event of a dispute over the intermunicipal arrangement; the board authorized Administrator Ken Myers to sign Lisko’s conflicts agreement on a Peck/Egolf motion that carried.
The agreement is intended to create operational redundancy and shared resources for plant operation and road response. The board did not record further legal analysis or a public comment period for the resolution in the meeting minutes.
