"We received a 1.96 million dollar grant to replace the Fosdick Road bridge for construction only," Sciano said. Council voted to authorize hiring SME for geotechnical services at a cost of $36,500.
The authorization for geotechnical services is an early step; Sciano told council there will be a series of bridge-related ordinances in the next two months to cover engineering and compliance work. The council approved the $36,500 authorization by voice and roll call (aye: 5 / nay: 0).
Project funding and timelines will be set as later ordinances and contracts are presented to council. The village's stated next steps are to complete design and ODOT-required documentation before bidding for construction.
