The Borough of Westwood Environmental Advisory Committee voted to delay purchasing jars labeled as produced by Westwood hives until July so the beekeeper can separate and process honey harvested specifically from Westwood hives.
Norel Blundo, chair, said she had contacted beekeeper Lisa Skogland about buying jars of honey for local distribution. Skogland told the committee that current honey available is a blend from multiple local hives but that if the committee waits until July she could process honey from the Westwood hives separately so it could be labeled as produced by Westwood bees.
The committee voted to wait until July to make the purchase. Blundo said she would follow up with Skogland to arrange the purchase at that time. No motion text, mover/second, or vote tally was recorded in the minutes.
