Westwood committee raises questions about Trex photo verification; suggests centralized drop-off

Members of the Borough of Westwood Environmental Advisory Committee discussed a recent change in Trex’s photo-based verification process and possible local improvements to collection.
Anthony Cambria, committee member, reported that Trex revised its submission process so that photos submitted as proof of drop-off are held in a "pending" state for one week before Trex accepts them. Cambria said he was unsure what happens if a photo is not accepted.
Robert Bicocchi, council liaison, suggested the committee could improve bag collection by establishing a centralized collection point instead of the three current locations and by involving the Department of Public Works in collection and drop-off. Bicocchi said he would contact Rick Woods to explore that option.
The committee did not record a formal motion on the item; members agreed to explore the centralized collection idea and follow up with DPW to determine feasibility and any operational needs.
