Adams Township supervisors approve police vehicle purchase, extend Matilda Fields review

Adams Township supervisors approved several routine and project-specific measures at their Jan. 26, 2026 meeting, including the purchase of two police vehicles and a 30-day extension of review for the Matilda Fields planned residential development (PRD).
The board voted to buy two new police vehicles for a combined $135,329.16 after a motion by Supervisor Ronald J. Shemela that was seconded by Supervisor Ronald G. Nacey. The motion carried with all supervisors in favor.
The board also gave preliminary approvals for two plan items: the Amherst No. 13 Lot 208 & 213 lot line revision and the Tenacity Trail Subdivision. Both approvals were made by recorded motions and carried unanimously.
On the Matilda Fields PRD, the board agreed to extend the review period through the end of February and to revisit the matter at the Feb. 9, 2026 meeting. Supervisor Ronald G. Nacey moved the 30-day extension, seconded by Supervisor Ronald J. Shemela; the motion passed unanimously. The extension is conditioned on three items: a payment of $350 per building to the Forsythe Road fund; a signed agreement from each homeowner acknowledging that the homeowners association will be responsible for stormwater management and ponds in the development; and installation of a chain-link fence along the property bordering the Werner Farm, with final height and location to be determined.
The board approved HVAC Change Order No. 1 to relocate an emergency stop at a cost of $2,928.00 on a motion by Supervisor Ronald G. Nacey, seconded by Supervisor David M. Goodworth. The board also ratified a Snow Emergency Declaration by motion of Ronald J. Shemela, seconded by Ronald G. Nacey; both motions carried unanimously.
The meeting opened at 7:10 p.m. at the Adams Township Municipal Building, 690 Valencia Road, and was adjourned at 7:36 p.m. during which public comment included a thank-you from resident Lucy Nacey for a township donation to Try, A Special Needs Organization.
