The Adams Township Parks and Recreation Board voted Jan. 6 to move all regular 2026 meetings to a 6:00 P.M. start and approved the calendar of meeting dates distributed by Parks & Recreation Director Brian Perry.
Township Manager Mike Tylka urged stronger member engagement for 2026, stressing the importance of attendance at meetings and events. Perry said the board will set aside time at each meeting for a workshop session to plan and refine special events already on the calendar, and that staff are looking at improvements to the Halloween event and other programming for the year.
Perry also reported he intends to apply for a Butler County grant to purchase AED enclosures for each pavilion in the township park; he will gather pricing and quotes to determine whether the proposal is viable. No dollar amounts or procurement timelines were provided in the minutes.
Why it matters: Shifting meeting times and committing to workshop sessions affects member participation and the board’s ability to execute events and park programs. Pursuing grant funding for AED enclosures could improve emergency preparedness at park facilities, but the proposal remains at an exploratory stage.
The board adjourned at 8:00 P.M.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Feb. 3, 2026, at 6:00 P.M.
