Board members and staff discussed regional disposal capacity and the recent trend of facilities closing or limiting intake, which drives price variance and increases haul distances. Staff noted the presence of a fuel‑surcharge clause in contracts to address diesel price volatility and said competitiveness depends in part on whether haulers have permitted disposal destinations.
The board approved both contract awards unanimously.
