The board adopted a resolution to opt into streamlined public-construction procedures and to rely on the City of Yukaya's contractor registration list for procurement of public-works projects. Staff said the change aligns the GSA with county and city practices and will simplify procurement for small public-works projects funded by grant programs (for example, monitoring-well installation under the CDFW grant).
"The point of this act is it gives agencies greater flexibility and efficiency when procuring public-works projects," the general manager said, adding that staff recommended adoption and that the TAC had recommended moving forward. Staff said there is no fiscal impact to the resolution and that it should reduce procurement friction for anticipated small projects.
The board approved the resolution by unanimous roll-call vote.
