The action followed a recalculation presented at the meeting by Rob Duplisea, who said he determined what the penalty would have been in 2008 when the lot became noncompliant and arrived at a $1,142 total. The Selectmen voted to abate the larger penalty and replace it with the recalculated supplemental charge.
The change replaces the previously listed $9,883.60 penalty with a $1,142 supplemental assessment tied to the earlier noncompliance date. Selectman Conkright made the motion and Selectman Wight seconded; the board recorded a unanimous vote at the Jan. 7 meeting.
The Selectmen did not set additional corrective orders at the meeting; signing of warrants was deferred until Selectperson Mandy Berry returns. The board is scheduled to meet again on Jan. 21, 2025, when any further administrative steps or billing adjustments would be processed.
