The Town of Newry Select Board approved several routine items at its July 15 meeting, including the renewal of JAR Co.'s marijuana retail store license and adoption of a coin policy.
Selectperson Mandy Berry moved to renew the JAR Co. retail license; Selectperson David Bartlett seconded and the board voted to approve the renewal. Earlier in the meeting Berry moved to approve the minutes of the July 1, 2025 meeting; Bartlett seconded. The record shows Bartlett abstained on the minutes motion and the board approved it. Later, Selectperson David Bartlett moved to accept the town's Coin Policy; Berry seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board also approved a request from the fire department to allow sale of the hydraulic pump and parts from an old apparatus door. Selectperson Mandy Berry made the motion; Selectperson David Bartlett seconded and the board voted in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 5:40 p.m. after a motion from Berry and a second from Bartlett.
These approvals were procedural and did not include extended debate. The board scheduled follow-up and committee meetings on several operational matters during the coming weeks.
