Residents raise pond‑dredging concerns; city reports salt shortage and activates Code Blue

City Manager Doug Lewis said the City had asked the court to review some of the information and would provide a response when available.
In administrative reports, Lewis told Council the region is experiencing a salt shortage that has limited deliveries (noting the City has been receiving roughly 50 tons per delivery despite ordering about 800 tons) and that the City is rationing salt use to treat hills, curves and critical areas; the City is coordinating brine pretreatment with Painesville Township. He also announced Code Blue is in effect for cold weather and that Sub‑0 Mission is operating as the warming station with daily pickups at 6 PM at St. James Church for individuals experiencing homelessness.
Lewis said staff will review the Heisley Park drainage materials and follow up with the HOA.
