Select Board approves budget, holiday policy and several motions; UDRO sent to Town Meeting

UDRO to Town Meeting: Selectman Mandy Berry moved to approve the UDRO as written to be taken to Town Meeting; Selectman David Bartlett seconded and the motion passed unanimously, placing the ordinance on the warrant for voter consideration.
Holiday policy: Selectman Mandy Berry moved to accept the Holiday Policy as written; Selectman David Bartlett seconded; the board approved the policy unanimously.
Budget and warrants: After a final review, the Select Board voted to accept the FY27 budget and the related warrant articles. The board noted it is not recommending Article 17, which would continue Municipal Solid Waste (MSW) coverage for all dumpsters and curbside pickup. The board recorded that Newry has 74 dumpsters and increasing tonnage; they are awaiting a list of dumpster locations.
Staff training closure: Selectman David Bartlett moved to allow office staff to attend training on May 7, 2026 and to close the office at 4 p.m. the day before; Selectman Mandy Berry seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Adjournment: Selectman Mandy Berry moved to adjourn at 7:16 p.m.; Selectman David Bartlett seconded and the meeting was adjourned. The board set its next meeting for April 21, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. at the Town Office.
