Pandora Village Council voted on March 25 to purchase a Ventrac tractor with broom and boom attachments from Koenig Equipment Inc. for $64,278.32, to be used for mowing lagoons, Mt. Stanley and other village areas.
The motion was made by Mr. Gray and seconded by Mr. Paul Burkholder; the minutes record the vote as 'All Yea.' The village will retain its two Ferris mowers and discontinue the prior mower-lease arrangement with Gary’s Repair.
Administrator Rick Morrison reported that the village received a quote from the Village of Ottawa to permit Pandora vehicles to dump sticks and yard waste at Ottawa’s site for $3,500 annually; council reached consensus to enter an agreement and asked Fiscal Officer Kimberly Reese to contact Ottawa to prepare the formal arrangement. The agreement, as described in the minutes, permits only Pandora vehicles to dump sticks and yard waste; logs and trees are excluded.
Morrison also told council that the EPA completed a sanitary sewer inspection the prior week and found no issues. Council approved two volunteers working with Administrator Morrison and Councilman Burkholder to install nine additional disc-golf baskets at village property. Nancy Hovest, owner of Pandora’s Lunch Box, received council approval for a designated handicap parking space in front of her restaurant.
Councilman Burkholder asked the administrator to solicit bids to repaint the exterior of the administrator building. With no further business council adjourned; the minutes record 'Voting: All Yea.'
